Fulton Sunshine Academy (FSA Elementary School) 5th Graders Visit the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History

The fifth graders had a great time on their field trip to the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History. The trip helped supplement their curriculum about the Civil War. At the museum they learned about the great locomotive chase of 1862, the role of railroads during the Civil War, and life as a Civil War soldier. They even got to seen the actual locomotive that was stolen-- The General!

Fulton Sunshine Academy (FSA Elementary School) Presidential Fitness Challenge in Physical Education Results Posted!

The President Fitness Challenge is given in Physical Education class once in the Fall & Spring. The challenge has five different types of fitness test: Sit-ups, Push-ups, P.A.C.E.R. (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run), Shuttle run, and Sit & Reach. Fitness testing is to encourage students to stay active & healthy so they can improve their scores in the Spring. The picture represents Mrs. Ruzicka's "Wall of Fame," they are the top female and male for each test out of their grade. The students have worked very hard the past four weeks to get the best fitness scores possible, we are very proud of their motivation to stay healthy & fit. "Commit to be fit!"
